RL6: How to add a COVID-19 Incident Icon to Your Icon Wall

March 20, 2020 RLDatix Marketing

To help you with your COVID-19 efforts, RLDatix COVID-19 incident form templates for patients and staff are now available. These form templates were developed using guidelines from the CDC, NHS, Government of Canada, and the Australian Government Department of Health.

Once you have the Patient/Visitor and Staff Exposure forms in your system, follow these steps to add them to your Icon Wall.

Upload the New Icon

Specific RLDatix PNG files are available for these forms but any standard graphic file, such as BMP, PNG, JPG or GIF, can be used to create an icon. RL6 will resize the graphic so that the height and width are consistent with other icons on the wall. The best images to use have the same height and width (i.e., a square); when one side is longer than the other, the longest side is resized to the standard 250 pixels dimension, meaning the shorter side will be less than 250 pixels.

  1. Open the Icon Wall Icons page.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Complete the Icon Name, Description, and Caption fields (Icon Field Descriptions).
  4. Click Choose File and select the image you want to use for the icon, e.g., COVID-19 Incident for Patient or Visitor.png or COVID-19 Incident for Staff Exposure.png.
  5. Click Open.
  6. Select the form to which the graphic should be associated.
  7. Enter the keywords you want to use to help identify the form in searches. For example, if you enter ‘covid-19 incident patient visitor’ as keywords, this form appears when any of those words are in the search field of the Icon Wall.
  8. Set any default values.
    • Click the plus (+) icon and select a field.
    • Enter or select the default value for the field.
    • Click the X icon to delete the field default value.
  9. Click OK.
The new icon is created with the graphic resized to 250x250 pixels.

Add the Icon to Your Icon Wall

  1. Open the Icon Wall Templates page.
  2. Select the template to which you want to add the icon and click the Edit button.
    The Edit Template page appears.
  3. Click the plus (+) icon that appears in an empty cell of an icon set.
    The Add Icon dialog opens.
  4. Select an icon. If necessary, use the Left or Right arrow buttons to locate the icon.
  5. Click OK to add the icon to the cell.
  6. Click Save.
